Greene County Economic Development Group

Greene County Economic Development Group, Inc. (GCEDG) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The organization was established to promote economic development projects and programs in Greene County. GCEDG goals include:

  • Partner with community organizations, businesses and government agencies to promote regional growth

  • Conduct community outreach programs to increase understanding of economic development and to increase GCEDG membership

  • Respond to community needs to promote and retain local businesses

  • Use GCEDG website and Facebook to promote the resources Greene County offers for families, businesses and visitors

Broadband Project

We’re leading the effort to bring affordable, high-speed internet to every door in Greene County.

NEWS RELEASE: MARCH 19, 2024 - $24.7 MILLION CONNECT ILLINOIS GRANTS:  Greene County Economic Development Group (GCEDG)in conjunction with Frontier Communications is excited to announce the award of $24.7 million from the Connect Illinois Grant Program to install a fast, reliable fiber network for the vast majority of rural Greene County.  Read the Broadband Announcement HERE.
